We're here to make sure no one has to face a mental health problem alone.
Mental Health
Adult Counselling Service
Our adult counselling service offers one to one counselling which can help you learn tools and coping mechanisms, build strategies and have a safe space to reflect and explore your challenges. We receive our referrals from GP surgeries, if you would like to be referred to our services please contact your GP directly who can advise you if they have a referral pathway to our services.
All our counsellors are members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. We also offer placement opportunities to trainee counsellors for more information please see our Trainee counsellor page.
We enlisted in the support of Healthbox CIC when we felt that some of our pupils, who have profound emotional needs would benefit additional support. Laura, one of the company's counsellors is friendly positive and engaging and really gets to know the child on a personal level. Laura has even attended school performances to support the children she works with. She has also delivered transition sessions for children that have left school and moved to another.
Teacher, Overhall Primary School
1-2-1 School Child Counselling
1 in 6 children aged 5-16 are likely to have a mental health problem, according to the Children’s Society. In light of the evidence that children do not always receive the support that they need, as quickly as they should, Healthbox CIC will be offering 1-2-1 counselling to children referred by a parent or teacher with the aim of reducing potential barriers to education. Pupils will receive a counselling session once a week on the school premises.
"Give yourself time to heal from a challenge you've been dealt. Letting go of hurt doesn't happen overnight. It happens in slow, small steps forward. (plus a few steps backwards at times). Be gentle and patient with yourself.
